The Association for Solidarity and Assistance of the French People settled in Shanghai, commonly known as “Solidarité Shanghai” was initiated by the French Consul, Mr. Thierry Mathou and the first President, Mr. Thomas Chabrières, at Shanghai in 2009.

Solidarité Shanghai aims at helping the French community, residents or visitors, who are experiencing social, professional, medical or family difficulties in Shanghai.

Solidarité Shanghai is here to offer you a personalized support and links you with its network, in the respect of your privacy.

The association is not intended to intervene in situations of extreme urgency, emergencies are conducted by the services of the Consulate. On the other hand, it intends to ensure a longer term follow up of the people asking for help and may also give financial and material assistance within the limit of its resources.

For the Youngers, studying or starting their professional life abroad might be a real challenge. It is not uncommon that some of them express their loneliness, in a city far from their home and with different uses and habits.  At Solidarité Shanghai, the project ‘A family in Shanghai’ links young newcomers with an already established French family in Shanghai. They can definitely benefit from these shared moments and experiences that could transform positively their life in Shanghai.
